Your session border controllers, run like they matter.
Because they do. The SBC is where your voice estate meets the outside world — we design it, deploy it, and watch it 24/7, on AudioCodes and Ribbon platforms we're certified to run.
Sparvia Systems has designed, deployed, and managed over 70 enterprise Session Border Controllers.
The SBC is where your voice estate meets the outside world. We make sure that critical intersection is secure, compliant, and always on. Whether you are navigating a complex cloud voice migration or securing a direct routing environment, we design it, deploy it, and watch it 24/7 on the AudioCodes and Ribbon platforms we're certified to run.
The guardian of your enterprise voice
We are fully immersed in SBC technologies because they are the foundation of secure enterprise communications. A Session Border Controller acts as a dedicated, highly intelligent firewall for your voice and video traffic. It protects your network from SIP-based attacks, seamlessly translates protocols across multi-vendor telephony architectures, and ensures high-quality routing between your internal platforms — like Microsoft Teams — and your external service providers.
AudioCodes and Ribbon SBCs, by model.
Every Session Border Controller platform we deploy and support, from branch-office appliances to carrier-grade and virtual editions — across the AudioCodes Mediant and Ribbon SBC product families.

Mediant 500 / 500L
The entry point into the AudioCodes Mediant line: a desktop-class E-SBC built for small offices and branch sites that still need enterprise-grade perimeter defense. Built-in PSTN fallback keeps calls alive through a WAN outage, and SIP normalization smooths the handoff between IP-PBXs and SIP trunk providers or Direct Routing.
- 1-4 BRI or 4 FXS + 4 FXO analog ports (500L)
- Microsoft SIP Gateway for analog-to-Teams integration
- Up to 250 concurrent sessions

Mediant 800 / 800C
A single rack-mount box that does double duty as SBC and media gateway for small-to-mid enterprises, with FXS, FXO, BRI, and T1/E1 interfaces on board for whatever legacy telephony still needs to talk to the network. Two-box high-availability redundancy and layered VoIP threat protection make it a common choice as the demarcation point on hybrid deployments we manage.
- Up to 124 voice channels (E1/T1/J1, BRI, FXS/FXO)
- Two-box high-availability redundancy
- Optional embedded server module for third-party apps

Mediant 1000
A modular chassis E-SBC for medium enterprises whose interface needs don't fit a fixed-port box — up to 6 E1 or 8 T1/J1 digital trunks mix and match per site. Certified across major UC platforms with 1+1 port and power redundancy, it's the model we reach for on phased migrations off legacy PBX hardware.
- Up to 6 E1 / 8 T1/J1 digital TDM trunks
- 1+1 Ethernet and power redundancy
- 192 voice channels total

Mediant 2600
Our mid-range workhorse for organizations that have outgrown a branch-class box: up to 600 concurrent transcoding sessions and 8,000 registered users, with physical separation of media, control, and management traffic. It sits comfortably as the secure demarcation point for medium-to-large SIP trunking deployments.
- Up to 600 transcoding sessions, 8,000 registered users
- 8x GbE ports, media/control/OA&M separated
- Dual redundant AC power supply

Mediant 4000
A carrier-grade E-SBC scaled for large enterprises and service providers moving serious traffic — up to 5,000 concurrent sessions with active-standby redundancy across multiple SIP service nodes. Advanced media handling and broadband transcoding keep call quality intact under multimedia loads a smaller Mediant box was never meant to carry.
- Up to 5,000 concurrent transcoding sessions
- Active-standby high-availability redundancy
- 8x GbE ports, media/control/OA&M separated

Mediant 9000
AudioCodes' top-of-range platform, built for tier-1 service providers and the largest enterprise estates — up to 100,000 concurrent sessions and 500,000 registered users on modern, data-center-dense server architecture. We spec this one rarely, and only when the traffic genuinely calls for it.
- Up to 100,000 concurrent sessions
- Up to 500,000 registered users
- Microsoft-certified for Teams Direct Routing

Mediant VE / CE
The same SBC feature set as the physical Mediant line, packaged as software for private or public cloud deployment. VE/CE removes the hardware dependency entirely, letting us provision SBC capacity on demand for hosted UC, contact centre, and Direct Routing workloads without a truck roll.
- Deployable on VMware, Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
- CE adds cloud-native elastic auto-scaling
- Microsoft-certified for Teams Direct Routing

SBC 1000 / SBC 2000
Ribbon's entry hardware SBC for small-to-medium businesses and branch offices, purpose-built to protect SIP trunks and cloud UC (Microsoft Teams, Zoom Phone) at the edge. The SBC 2000 scales to 16 T1/E1 spans for legacy PBX and call-centre routing, with local survivability that keeps calls alive if the WAN or cloud connection drops. The SBC 2000 has since reached end-of-sale — Ribbon now directs new deployments to the Edge 8000 family below, and we plan replacements accordingly for anyone still running one.
- Up to 16x T1/E1, 48x FXS ports (SBC 2000)
- Local survivability for Teams Direct Routing
- SBC 2000: end-of-sale, succeeded by Edge 8000

EdgeMarc
The EdgeMarc Intelligent Edge series solves the quality and security problems that come with running voice over the open internet — a compact demarcation point for hosted UC and SIP trunking. Optional analog FXS/FXO ports handle legacy handsets, and PoE-enabled variants power endpoints directly, which keeps small-branch installs simple.
- SIP-aware routing, firewall, and QoS monitoring
- Optional FXS/FXO gateway ports and PoE
- Certified for Microsoft Teams and Zoom Phone

SBC Edge 8000 Series
A modernized hardware platform — 8100 through 8500 — that runs Ribbon's SBC SWe Edge software on a broader set of physical interfaces, positioned as the direct successor to the SBC 2000. It's our go-to when a site's hybrid networking is too complex for a branch-class box but doesn't need carrier-grade scale.
- Up to 2,000 sessions, ~5,000 registered users
- Edge 8500: up to 32x T1/E1, 96x FXS, 16x FXO
- 2.5, 5, or 10 Gbps routing throughput options

SBC SWe Edge
SWe Edge is the virtualized counterpart to the SBC 1000/2000/Edge 8000 line — the same core software and security services, running as a VM on Hyper-V, VMware, or Nutanix, or directly in Azure or AWS. It lets us stand up Direct Routing or Zoom Phone BYOC capacity for a site on demand, with nothing to rack.
- Runs on Azure, AWS, Hyper-V, VMware, KVM
- Up to 2,000 calls / 5,000 devices
- Teams Direct Routing, Zoom BYOC, Webex Local Gateway

SBC SWe
The core cloud-native edition of Ribbon's flagship SBC software, sharing the same codebase, resiliency, and media transcoding as the hardware SBC 5400 and 7000. We use it where a service provider or large enterprise wants carrier-grade SBC capacity in their own data centre or public cloud, without committing to a hardware refresh cycle.
- Deployable as VM, OpenStack VNF, or on AWS/Azure/GCP
- Feature parity with hardware SBC 5400/7000
- Managed via Ribbon's RAMP platform

SBC 5400
A rack-mount hardware SBC for service providers and large enterprises, licensed to scale from a few hundred sessions up to 75,000 with no hardware swap required to move between 1GbE and 10GbE. Full SRTP encryption at no capacity penalty and JITC certification make it a solid fit for compliance-sensitive, high-throughput environments.
- Scales to 75,000 sessions via licensing
- 1GbE/10GbE switchable by license, not hardware
- JITC-certified; no SRTP capacity penalty

SBC 7000
Ribbon's flagship high-capacity appliance, engineered for global service-provider traffic and the largest enterprise networks — up to 150,000 concurrent sessions with industry-high SRTP encrypted capacity. Full media, transcoding, and security features stay enabled at maximum scale, including HD voice, video, VoLTE, and RCS.
- Up to 150,000 concurrent sessions
